Chief Business Officer/English Services NEIL MCENEANEY has exited the CBC and has joined ratings service NUMERIS as Pres./CEO. MCENEANEY, who joined the CBC in 2001 after working in financial management at the NATIONAL POST and the MONTREAL GAZETTE, replaces the retiring JIM MCLEOD at the helm of NUMERIS, the former BBM.
MCENEANEY's exit from the CBC comes in the wake of news that he had lodged an informal complaint of alleged harassment by CBC EVP/English Services HEATHER CONWAY, who the TORONTO STAR reports has apologized for her behavior.
The incident, which occurred after CONWAY publicly called for workplace improvements after the JIAN GHOMESHI scandal, was being investigated by the STAR at the time of MCENEANEY's resignation; details of the harassment, which allegedly occurred at a meeting within the last two months, were not revealed, but MCENEANEY told the STAR that he had not filed a formal complaint and CONWAY apologized.
