If it seems ADELE's "25" is ubiquitous -- what with SNL and MUPPETS parodies -- that's because it is. The smash XL/COLUMBIA album has already sold 2.3 million copies in just three days, and will shatter NSYNC's 15-year-old one-week sales record for "No Strings Attached," which tallied 2.42 million back in MARCH, 2000, by the end of today, according to sources at NIELSEN SOUNDSCAN.
That total includes 900,000 sold at iTUNES during its first day. With four sales days still left until NIELSEN stops counting THURSDAY night, ponderers are starting to ponder whether ADELE can shatter the 3 million mark, and then whether she can do another million next week.
Hello? Apparently everyone's out there for the superstar singer.
