NIELSEN MUSIC has revealed that ADELE's "25" has now sold over 4.2 million copies in the U.S.
Through sales on DECEMBER 1st, NIELSEN MUSIC said ADELE's album has sold 840,000 in its second week. Added onto the 3.38 million it sold in the week of NOVEMBER 20th through NOVEMBER 26th, "25" is now up to 4.2 million copies. The album’s second tracking week began last FRIDAY (NOVEMBER 27th).
Forecasts indicate "25" could sell up to 950,000 copies in its second week, with an outside shot of a million, which would make it the first album in NIELSEN history (since 1991) to sell a million copies in two separate weeks.. If it manages a million, it would then become the first album in NIELSEN history to sell a million copies in two different weeks.
There are slightly more than two days left in the current sales tracking week (which ends at the close of business on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3rd).
