JOHN GEARY is retiring as Interim Pres. of iHEARTMEDIA's SACRAMENTO cluster and SVP/Sales SARA MCCLURE has been upped to President of the cluster, which includes News-Talk KFBK-A-F, News-Talk KSTE-A (TALK 650), Classic Hip-Hop KHYL (V101.1 FM), Country KBEB (B92.5), and Adult Hits KQJK (93.7 JACK FM). GEARY had returned to the stations from retirement in 2014 to replace DAVE MILNER after serving as VP/GM at the crosstown ENTERCOM clusters.
“The hiatus from my retirement was intended to be short-term, and seeing iHEARTMEDIA from the inside has been a great experience. And I am beyond excited to see iHEARTMEDIA SACRAMENTO be led by SARA MCCLURE moving forward. Having worked with her for 17 years, I know SARA will be very successful because she has the talent and the leadership that the job demands today,” said GEARY.
MCCLURE said, “I am thrilled to take this next step in my career. Becoming President of iHEARTMEDIA/SACRAMENTO, which is my hometown, is very special. iHEARTMEDIA is a company of opportunity where I can operate within a culture that is consistent with how I do business. I look forward to delivering results to our clients and fantastic products to our listeners, while creating an environment for our team that allows them to excel as part of a dynamic organization in a rapidly evolving industry.”
"This is a great opportunity for SARA. She has exhibited true leadership capability and has helped to sustain the successful momentum iHEARTMEDIA/SACRAMENTO has experienced,” said iHEARTMEDIA EVP/Operations HARTLEY ADKINS. "I am looking forward to watching her grow as senior leader within iHEARTMEDIA and I am proud to hand over iHEARTMEDIA/SACRAMENTO to SARA.”
