WSGE/Charlotte Morning Show Host Tim Greene Kicks Off 'Discover Your Greatness Holiday Tour'

GASTON COLLEGE NPR Triple A affiliate WSGE (91.7FM)/CHARLOTTE, NC, morning show host, APD.MD and film writer/producer/director TIM GREENE kicked off his “Discover Your Greatness Holiday Tour” in LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK CITY.

The tour awards kids in underserved communities who get straight A’s in the classroom. Said GREENE: "Instead of giving out food for the holidays, I give out food for thought. If kids ages 4 to 10 can recite every word in any popular rap song than they should be able to recite 21 steps on how to be successful in life and how to make their money work for them instead of working for their money in the future.  There are so many kids that come out to my events that I have to ship at least 15 boxes of awards in advance to each city that I go to."

More than 400 kids showed up in LOS ANGELES and 300 in NEW YORK CITY, where GREENE conducted educational and entertainment workshops, then awarded each kid with Diplomas, Certificates of Excellence and Medals of Honor for doing so well in school.  Computer systems were also awarded as prizes at all of the events.

Concluded GREENE: "To date I have given out over 275 laptop and tablet computers to kids in underserved communities nationwide."

The tour is also set to make stops in DETROIT, CHICAGO, PHILADELPHIA, WASHINGTON, DC, SAN FRANCISCO, DALLAS and ATLANTA over the next few weeks.
