iHEARTMEDIA Country KWNR (95.5 THE BULL)/LAS VEGAS has added BIG D for afternoons, effective YESTERDAY (8/22). BIG D replaces JOJO TURNBEAUGH, who recently stepped away from his on-air shift after being elevated to SVP/Programming for the NEVADA/CENTRAL CALIFORNIA Region (NET NEWS 8/4).
BIG D, not to be confused with one-half of the "BIG D & BUBBA" duo, joins KWNR from Top 40 sister KPLV/LAS VEGAS, where he served as ADP/morning host beginning in 2015 (NET NEWS 3/26/15). Other resume stops include KDWB/MINNEAPOLIS, WZEE/MADISON, KAJA/SAN ANTONIO, and WQEN/BIRMINGHAM. BIG D also previously handled nights on KWNR. "BIG D was a BIG part of 'THE BULL' when he handled nights a couple of years ago," said TURNBEAUGH. "It's great to have him back home where I know he will take afternoons to a whole new level here in LAS VEGAS."
"Country radio is something I've grown to love over the last five years," said BIG D. "I've been lucky enough to learn the format from amazing programmers like TRAVIS MOON, BREE WAGNER, GREGG SWEDBERG, and JOJO TURNBEAUGH. Excited to step into my first full-time gig in Country radio with a stacked air staff on a massive station. I'm blessed for this opportunity and cannot wait to see where it brings me next. Horns up!"
