SCRIPPS News-Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE host CHARLIE SYKES' RIGHTWISCONSIN.COM has named former WISCONSIN Governor TOMMY THOMPSON as the winner of its RONALD REAGAN Award and WINDWAY FOUNDATION VP and Republican Party activist MARY KOHLER will receive the MARGARET THATCHER Award, both Lifetime Achievement Awards, at the RIGHT WISCONSIN Awards event on SEPTEMBER 30th.
SYKES and WISCONSIN Lt. Gov. REBECCA KLEEFISCH will host the evening, which will also bestow the Iron Lady Award to school choice advocate SUSAN MITCHELL; the Innovator Award to WISCONSIN Public Service Commission Chair ELLEN NOWAK; the Unintimidated Award to MARQUETTE Professor JOHN MCADAMS; and the Patriot Award to STARS AND STRIPES HONOR FLIGHT Founder JOE DEAN.
“MARY KOHLER has been the backbone of the Conservative movement for decades. Without her support, there is simply no way the State of Wisconsin could be the beacon of Conservative reform that it is today,” said SYKES. ‘We are also pleased to mark the 30th anniversary of the election of TOMMY G. THOMPSON as governor, by presenting him with the inaugural RONALD REAGAN Award. Governor THOMPSON was not merely one of this nation's most effective and innovative governors, he was also laid groundwork for the Conservative Revolution in this state with his bold reforms welfare, and taxation, and education."
