Two BOSTON radio legends -- Rock/Alternative WBCN longtime PD OEDIPUS and legendary WZOU and WXKS (KISS 108)/ PD STEVE RIVERS -- have been selected to join the MASSACHUSETTS BROADCASTERS HALL OF FAME, the BOSTON GLOBE reports.
Joining them this year are BOSTON CELTICS broadcasters MIKE GORMAN and TOMMY HEINSOHN, former TV meteorologist BOB COPELAND, and former “Chronicle” co-host PETER MEHEGAN, former “GOOD MORNING AMERICA” and local TV consumer editor PAULA LYONS, former MAGIC 106.7 news anchor GAY VERNON and the late BRUCE BRADLEY, who was a popular DJ at WBZ-A.
The induction ceremony will take place during the 10th annual MASSACHUSETTS BROADCASTERS HALL OF FAME awards luncheon on OCT. 13th. TV host (and former WHAV/HAVERHILL host) TOM BERGERON will serve as the emcee. The luncheon is open to the public and tickets are $75 each.
