The Living Legends Foundation Ready To Celebrate 25th Anniversary

THE LIVING LEGENDS FOUNDATION (LLF) will celebrate its 25th Anniversary and award this years honorees at the TAGLYAN CULTURAL COMPLEX in LOS ANGELES on THURSDAY OCTOBER 6th.   

The show and dinner will be hosted again this year by XHRM (MAGIC 92.5)/SAN DIEGO personality JAMMIN’ JAY MICHAELS.  GUORDAN BANKS will perform as part of the evenings activities. Festivities will start at 7p (PT).

FOUNDATION Chairman DAVID LINTON said, “We look forward to celebrating our Silver Anniversary--our 25th in LOS ANGELES, where it all started.  JAY MICHAELS did such a good job of hosting last year, we decided to bring him back. Also, we are excited that GOURDAN BANKS will perform. You know his “KEEP YOU IN MIND” is still one of the hottest songs going.  I think the evening is going to be special and our 7 honorees are outstanding people.  And we are all about people, our FOUNDATION provides assistance to those who have served the music & radio industry and who have a confirmable need.  It is provided in a manner that maintains the dignity of those who may receive financial help.”

In 1991, record industry legends RAY HARRIS, BARBARA LEWIS, C. C. EVANS and the late JERRY BOULDING founded the LIVING LEGENDS FOUNDATION.  Over the years, the organization has recognized and honored over 100 distinguished leaders in music, radio, retail and media.  Past honorees include QUINCY JONES, CLARENCE AVANT, KENNY GAMBLE, LEON HUFF, CATHY HUGHES, STEPHEN HILL, ANTONIO “LA” REID, RUSHION MCDONALD, JON PLATT, KEITH CLINKSCALES, ETHIOPIA HABTEMARIAM, LARKIN ARNOLD, BRENDA ANDREWS, the late HAL JACKSON, the late JACK “THE RAPPER” GIBSON, CHARLES WARFIELD, AUNDRAE RUSSELL, RUBEN RODRIGUEZ, LEE BAILEY and numerous others.

THE LIVING LEGENDS FOUNDATION is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization and has been funded primarily with corporate contributions and individual donations.  Many former music industry employees worked during a time when 401K’s and retirement packages were not available, and even today, in this era of downsizing and mergers, the uncertainty of career stability within the industry has grown.  Proceeds from the event will enable the LLF to continue to aid those in need.
