CBS RADIO is resurrecting the "LOVELINE" brand with a new podcast version hosted with celebrity AMBER ROSE and sex therapist Dr. CHRIS DONAGHUE. The weekly, hour-long "LOVELINE WITH AMBER ROSE" wil debut THURSDAY (9/8) via PLAY.IT. The show will also be recorded on video and will be later available via YouTube, and the first 10-15 minutes of each episode will be streamed on Facebook Live.
“We're excited to relaunch ‘LOVELINE’ as a PLAY.IT original,” said EVP. Programming CHRIS OLIVIERO. “AMBER’s modern take on love and relationships is not only an ideal fit for the evolution of this iconic franchise, but she will also help further expand the reach and appeal of our entire on demand platform.”
“AMBER ROSE’s distinctive voice is a welcomed addition to the growing roster of original podcasts on PLAY.IT,” added CBS LOCAL DIGITAL MEDIA EVP/GM ADAM WIENER. “Her blunt commentary on sex, relationships, and love is sure to be a hit with her loyal fans and our listeners. We are thrilled to bring a fresh take to the brand with ROSE’s unique perspective and introduce a whole new generation to ‘LOVELINE.’”
“I am super excited to take over and work with such a legendary brand like ‘LOVELINE,’” said ROSE. “This podcast is a chance for me to share my raw and honest experiences with my fans and hear their stories. Dr. DONAGHUE and I have a great relationship, and I’m happy he’s joining me on this journey. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”The original LOVELINE, which started at KROQ/LOS ANGELES in 1983 with JIM "POORMAN" TRENTON, SCOTT MASON, and "SWEDISH EGIL" AALVIK, with DR. DREW PINSKY joining in 1984 and continuing with co-hosts including RIKI RACHTMAN, ADAM CAROLLA, TED STRYKER, and "PSYCHO MIKE" CATHERWOOD, was discontinued on APRIL 28th. It was syndicated through most of its run by WESTWOOD ONE and, in later years, COURTSIDE ENTERTAINMENT.
