RADIO ONE OF BOSTON LICENSES, LLC is selling Chinese WILD-A/BOSTON to RADIO BOSTON BROADCASTING, INC. for $888,326.16 ($15,000 per month under an existing LMA for 36 months, $348,326.16 assumed debt to VERTICAL BRIDGE TOWERS, LLC, and any other outstanding amounts owed to RADIO ONE under the LMA). The buyer has been operating the station under the LMA since 2013, airing CHINA RADIO INTERNATIONAL programming.
In other filings with the FCC, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION is selling Silent KARJ/KUNA, ID to PENSACOLA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE, INC. for $275,000.
CHARLES RODGERS' RODGSON, INC. is selling Country WSDQ-A/DUNLAP, TN to SPENCER TRAVIS HICKMAN for $1. HICKMAN is also buying WEPG-A/SOUTH PITTSBURG, TN from RODGERS' STONE/COLLINS COMMUNICATIONS INC., also for $1.
RANDY MARKEL has closed on the sale of 25% of Sports KFNS-A/WOOD RIVER, IL-ST. LOUIS to TIM MCKERNAN, and the assignment of the station's license from MARKEL RADIO GROUP, LLC to MCKERNAN RADIO GROUP, LLC. MARKEL retains 75% control of the licensee and is paying MCKERNAN a $50,000 signing bonus and is establishing a $200,000 working capital reserve fund; MCKERNAN is programming the station through his INSIDESTL.COM, with programming merged with the lineup he programmed on weekdays at crosstown WGNU-A, and he is being paid under a contract for five years at annual rates of $200,000, $225,000, $250,000, $275,000, and $300,000 plus a car allowance of an aggregate $1,950/month for himself, his spouse, and one employee, with a $100,000 buyout if the station is sold to a third party.
DAVID M. STOUT has closed on the sale of W269CV/CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI to MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $47,500. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast News-Talk KDAL-A/DULUTH.
BEACON BROADCASTING CORP. has closed on the sale of W257BW/NEW TRIPOLI, PA to WIN RADIO BROADCASTING CORP. for $75,000. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast Brokered South Asian WCTN-A (RADIO ZINDAGI)/POTOMAC-CABIN JOHN, MD-WASHINGTON, DC.
HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP has closed on the sale of K258CU (now K297BW)/SIOUX FALLS, SD to MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $35,000. The buyer plans to rebroadcast News-Talk KELO-A/SIOUX FALLS on the translator; the AM station presently simulcasts on full power KELQ/FLANDREAU-SIOUX FALLS.
And EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of W214BW/CITRONELLE, AL to AGAPE EDUCATIONAL MEDIA, INC. for $28,000.
In CANADA, NEWCAP News-Talk CKCM-A/GRAND FALLS, WINDSOR, NL and News-Talk CFSX-A/STEPHENVILLE, NL, both part of the VOCM network, have been closed down by the licensee, reports the WESTERN STAR.
And INTERNATIONAL HARVESTERS FOR CHRIST EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION, INC. has been granted a new low-power rebroadcasting transmitter by the CRTC for Contemporary Christian CITA/MONCTON, NB at BOUCTOUCHE, NB, with 50 watts at 107.7 FM.
