iHEARTMEDIA Top 40 WKGS and sister Hot AC WDVI/ROCHESTER, NY PD TIAS SCHUSTER has been named SVP/Programming for iHEART's NORFOLK cluster, where he'll oversee all programming for Top 40 WNOH, Rhythmic AC WMOV, Urban WOWI and Urban AC WHBT. He will directly program WNOH and WMOV.
SCHUSTER began his radio career in 1998 at ENTERCOM Top 40 WFBC/GREENVILLE, SC as the station mascot, "BUZZY THE BEE." After climbing the ladder there, he moved to sister Top 40 WKRZ/WILKES-BARRE in 2004. Following years of ratings success, he returned to the south in 2007, this time as PD/Digital Content Director and afternoon talent for sister station (then Rhythm-formatted) WNVZ/NORFOLK. When management in GREENVILLE offered SCHUSTER the opportunity to program the station where he began his career, he jumped at the chance, returning to WFBC as OM/PD in 2012. Flash forward two years and one MARCONI nomination later, where he was approached for - and accepted - his current post with iHEART/ROCHESTER.
SCHUSTER told ALL ACCESS, "In a very short time, iHEARTMEDIA has shown me such great opportunity! I am honored, excited and highly motivated about returning to HAMPTON ROADS as the market SVPP. I look forward to working with my new partners in world domination, DERRICK MARTIN and JEFF WYATT! Together we are going to accomplish new high levels of revenue and ratings with these already successful brands. Special thank you to our powerful leaders RICK GREEN, MEG STEVENS, BOB MORGAN, RICH LAUBER and A.J. for their guidance and talents."
The start date for TIAS' excellent adventure is TBD. As for his replacement in ROCHESTER, stay tuned.
