CUMULUS has shut down WTOD-A/TOLEDO and has moved its syndicated News-Talk format to WQQO-HD2-W264AK, replacing Active Rock "100.7 THE ZONE," which had retooled from Alternative in AUGUST.
The AM signal was shut down SATURDAY night (9/24), and the TOLEDO BLADE reports that the station's STA to operate at variance with its license due to ground system problems was about to expire and Regional VP/Market Manager ANDY STUART told the paper that the station was faced with a choice, "either fix the transmitter site or turn the license back in. But the cost to fix it and what the expected return is not a good investment. We decided the best thing is to turn it back and maybe someone else will want to operate it.”
BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY Football and basketball are moving with the format to its new dial location, and UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN football and basketball will move to Country WMIM (98.3 NASH ICON).
