Emmis New York Presents 'State Of Black America' Panel With Mothers Of Shooting Victims, October 15th

EMMIS COMMUNICATIONS NEW YORK is presenting a panel, 'State Of Black AMERICA: Mothers Speak Out," featuring the parents of police shooting victims, PHILANDO, TRAYVON MARTIN and OSCAR GRANT as part of the CIRCLE OF SISTERS event, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15th, at NEW YORK's JACOB JAVITS CENTER.
The panel will include VALERIE CASTILE, mother of PHILANDO, shot to death during a police traffic stop; SYBRINA FULTON, mother of TRAYVON MARTIN, shot and killed in FLORIDA after a confrontation with GEORGE ZIMMERMAN, and WANDA JOHNSON, mother of OSCAR GRANT, shot by a BART police officer in SAN FRANCISCO. Attorney BENJAMIN L. CRUMP will also be a guest on the panel, which will be moderated by JUDGE GLENDA HATCHETT and FATIYN MUHAMMAD.
The public is invited to hear their stories, what they are doing to help incite change via their foundations, and how one can make a difference during this special “State of Black AMERICA” roundtable at CIRCLE OF SISTERS, the largest EXPO in NEW YORK CITY uniting, motivating and celebrating women of color, which takes place SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15th and SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16th.
