COCHISE BROADCASTING LLC has requested an extension of its Silent STA for KZXQ/LAKE OF THE WOODS, AZ because "it has been difficult... to commit resources to this construction given the long pendency of the station's renewal application (filed almost five years ago)."
CASCADE COMMUNITY RADIO has filed for a Silent STA for KTFH/LEES CAMP, OR while it divests the station to allow it to operate low power KDOO-LP/PORTLAND.

VANGUARD MEDIA LLC has closed on the sale of Silent KQNM-A/ALBUQUERQUE to IMMACULATE HEART RADIO's IHR EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING for $250,000.
STARBOARD MEDIA FOUNDATION has closed on the purchase of Tropical WCNZ-A (ARDIENTE 1660, now Religion RELEVANT RADIO) and AC WVOI-A/MARCO ISLAND, FL from ALMODOVAR MEDIA CORPORATION for assumption of a $356,266.18 promissory note. Also in CANADA, the CRTC has approved the CBC's application to move CBMA/ROUYN-NORANDA, QC, a retransmitter of CBC RADIO ONE affiliate CBVE/QUEBEC CITY, and change CBMA's frequency from 99.9 FM to 91.9 FM, increase ERP from 1,000 to 2,172 watts, and decrease antenna height above average terrain from 145 to 110.2 meters. The move allows the CBC to co-locate all of its services in ROUYN-NORANDA.
Back stateside, the FCC has also again denied applications for review filed by DAVID A. SCHUM of the denial by the Media Bureau of a Petition to Deny a sale by BERNARD DALLAS, LLC of KFCD-A/FARMERSVILLE, TX and KHSE-A/WYLIE, TX to ACM DALLAS V LLC and a subsequent grant of a transfer of KHSE to HAMMOND BROADCASTING, LLC.
SCHUM was a principal in THE WATCH, LTD, former owner of the two stations and DFW RADIO LICENSE, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary. THE WATCH and DFW RADIO defaulted on loans and agreements with D.B. ZWIRN SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES FUND, L.P., which was the successful bidder at auction; after assigning the stations to affiliate BERNARD RADIO, the stations were sold to ACM. The appeals were based on alleged “fraud, lack of candor and deceit” in the initial transfer to BERNARD, and additional claims of undisclosed potential foreign ownership and Fifth Amendment seizure.
