CUMULUS AC KBBY (THE NEW 95.1 KBBY)/OXNARD-VENTURA has a new midday Personality/Production Dir. for the station.
PD BILL MICHAELS tells ALL ACCESS, “we were very fortunate to find the consummate professional right here in our own backyard. DAVE RANDALL, who most recently spent 20 years at [CBS RADIO Classic Hits KRTH] K-EARTH 101/LOS ANGELES, is coming onboard to take over our highly-rated midday show -- and he’ll be the Production Dir. for our five-station VENTU cluster as well.”
MICHAELS continued, “DAVE is an exceptional hire for us. He knows the area well, has a great personality which really comes across on the air, and he has the creativity, attention to detail and follow-through that you need in a good Production Dir. We’re thrilled to have him join our staff.”
RANDALL, who came to VENTURA COUNTY in 1988 after spending two years working in SAN DIEGO, said, “I just never left. I love living here. I had the pleasure of working with some of the greats at K-EARTH ... THE REAL DON STEELE and ROBERT W. MORGAN, to name a few. I just want to thank CHRIS COX, the OM here, SOMMER FRISK our Market Manager and of course, BILL MICHAELS, the PD here at KBBY, for the opportunity to continue to work in this beautiful place.”
RANDALL replaces SCOTT ALEXANDER, who recently left the station to join CAL LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY as Professor of Radio Communications. RANDALL starts his full-time duties at the station OCTOBER 1st.
