CBS Top 40 KKHH (Hot 95.7)/HOUSTON's SARAH PEPPER, morning co-host of THE HOT SHOW, was surprised by ALIEF Independent School District this week, where she was given The "Alief Proud Business and Community Partner Award" for her eight years of tireless work in the schools and communities with her program "Pepper Pays it Forward."
The presentation was made during one of her regularly scheduled school visits -- this time at HICK ELEMENTARY, where she was there to honor CHRISTINE DE OSIO, a fourth-grade bilingual science and math teacher, with the monthly $500 prize.
The moment was bittersweet, considering the "Pepper Pays it Forward" campaign began as a way of honoring her deceased brother who was a teacher. (10/1) will be the six-year anniversary of her family's loss. An emotional PEPPER told the school, "This is something ANDREW would definitely be proud of. I see his smile in the smiles of every one of the kids."
