WIVK/Knoxville MD/Midday Host Colleen Addair To Resign After 28 Years

CUMULUS Country WIVK/KNOXVILLE MD/midday host COLLEEN ADDAIR has resigned her position, effective FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7th, after 28 years with the station. ADDAIR revealed her decision via FACEBOOK this AFTERNOON (10/3).

"TODAY is an emotional day for me," shared ADDAIR. "When you've been somewhere and given your life to something for 28 years, it's gonna be emotional. When you're a small-town girl with a BIG love for Country music, and you've been given such a tremendous gift like WIVK, when you leave, it's gonna be emotional. Even if you know it's time. Last week, I made the decision to hand in my resignation, and I gotta tell you, the reaction was not what I expected. Management was kind and generous and asked me to take a week to make sure it's what I wanted. Which makes it even harder to walk away and hang up my headphones." 

There is no word yet from the station regarding plans to fill ADDAIR's position.
