KFWB-A/Los Angeles Sold Again, This Time To Lotus

Silence!

It started out as another quiet day in the FCC database, with a pair of Silent STA applications and a handful of deal closings on file and no new deals showing up TUESDAY morning. However, announcement of two notable radio stations were made later in the afternoon.

LOTUS COMMUNICATIONS CORP. has agreed to acquire South Asian KFWB-A (DESI 980)/LOS ANGELES from UNIVERSAL MEDIA ACCESS, a DELAWARE LLC, for $11.2 million. KALIL AND CO. brokered the deal; UNIVERSAL MEDIA ACCESS acquired the station just a few months ago.

In another deal yet to appear in the FCC database, EL DORADO BROADCASTERS LLC is selling Regional Mexican KURQ (LA M 107.3)/GROVER BEACH-SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA to GOLD COAST RADIO, LLC for an undisclosed price, with KALIL & CO., INC. as the exclusive broker for the transaction.  GOLD COAST has taken over programming with a simulcast of its KMLA (LA M 103.7)/EL RIO-OXNARD-VENTURA, CA; it previously was programmed with Alternative as NEW ROCK 107.3, flipping to the KMLA simulcast on JULY 1st.

Among the morning filings, SCOTT THOMPSON's BIG RADIO has applied for a Silent STA for W285DY/LUDINGTON, MI while it moves to rebroadcast News-Talk WBEL-A/BELOIT, WI.

CALVARY CHAPEL OF KENNETT has requested a Silent STA for low power FM KCJS-LP/KENNETT, MO while it builds its modified facility.

EL DORADO BROADCASTERS LLC (EDB VV LICENSE LLC) has closed on the sale of Silent KSLY, the former SUNNY COUNTRY and SLO COUNTRY,  in SAN LUIS OBISPO to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $350,000.

DAVIDSON MEDIA STATION WEMG LICENSEE, LLC has closed on the sale of Spanish Hits WEMG-A (MEGA 1310)/CAMDEN, NJ-PHILADELPHIA to MICHAEL SCIORE's M.S. ACQUISITIONS & HOLDINGS, LLC for $975,000.

CSN INTERNATIONAL has closed on the sale of W260CP/ANGOLA, IN (now W265DL/DOVER-NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH) to WJER RADIO, LLC for $40,000.  The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast AC-Oldies-Full Service WJER-A/DOVER-NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH.

NORTHEAST GOSPEL BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of W269BA/WOODFORD, VT to BILL BINNIE's WBIN MEDIA CO., INC. for $71,500.  The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast News-Talk WTSN-A/DOVER, NH.

And BIBLE BROADCASTING NETWORK, INC. is selling W293CG/BRANDON, FL (now W247CR/FORT MYERS) to FORT MYERS BROADCASTING COMPANY for $40,000.  The buyer is moving the translator to rebroadcast Spanish Adult Hits WJUA-A (JUAN 1200)/PINE ISLAND CENTER-FORT MYERS, FL.
