Yet another photographer lawsuit has been filed against a radio company alleging copyright infringement, this time against CUMULUS MEDIA for the use of a picture of the late TUPAC SHAKUR.
GARY MILLER's suit in U.S. District Court in the Southern District of NEW YORK alleges that CUMULUS used the photo without license, permission, or payment on the website of Classic Hip-Hop WRWM (93.9 THE BEAT)/INDIANAPOLIS on SEPTEMBER 13th of this year to accompany an article about the 20th anniversary of TUPAC's shooting.
As in the other suits filed by photographers through attorney RICHARD P. LIEBOWITZ' LONG ISLAND law firm, the suit seeks damages and profits or, in the alternative, statutory damages of up to $150,000 per work, plus attorneys' fees and costs.
