Erie, PA Host Jim LeCorchick Dies

CONNOISSEUR MEDIA News-Talk WJET-A (JET RADIO 1400)/ERIE, PA morning co-host and sister Sports WFNN-A (FOX SPORTS 1330 AM) MONDAY and FRIDAY afternoon host JIM LECORCHICK collapsed and died this morning as his WJET show was about to get underway, reports the ERIE TIMES-NEWS.  The paper reports that LECORCHICK walked into the studio of sister Rock WRKT (ROCKET 101), said "call 911," and collapsed.  He was taken to UPMC HAMOT hospital but died; he was 69.

LECORCHICK was a sportswriter for the LAKE SHORE VISITOR for 14 years and the TIMES-NEWS for 8 years; he began in radio in 1977 doing sports talk, taking on the WJET morning show in 1993 while continuing the afternoon sports show on WFNN.  Most recently, he worked alongside BARRY DAIN STEINHAGEN on WJET and hosted twice a week on WFNN.
