PEARL RECORDS artist GARTH BROOKS has ended his long holdout on music streaming by signing an exclusive deal with AMAZON MUSIC. Effective TODAY (10/19), subscribers of AMAZON MUSIC UNLIMITED - launched just one week ago (NET NEWS 10/12) - can now stream BROOKS’ latest single, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance,” from his upcoming “Gunslinger” album. Additionally, BROOKS’ “The Ultimate Hits” and “Double Live” will be available, as will “Gunslinger” and his CHRISTMAS album, “CHRISTMAS Together,” with wife TRISHA YEARWOOD. Eventually, all of BROOKS' past studio albums will also be available via AMAZON MUSIC.
"It is a joy to work with a company that is all about the customer when it comes to service, and all about the music and its creators when it comes to the music,” said BROOKS. “I applaud AMAZON on their commitment to quality and thank them for this opportunity.” Added AMAZON MUSIC VP STEVE BOOM, “This is a landmark moment for both AMAZON MUSIC and GARTH BROOKS, a legendary Country music superstar who continues to shatter industry records and amaze fans three decades into his career. We are honored to make his music available for streaming for the first time ever, exclusively on AMAZON MUSIC.”
BROOKS’ music, including studio and compilation albums, are also available for purchase and digital download in MP3 format on AMAZON MUSIC. AMAZON MUSIC UNLIMITED will also be the official sponsor of GARTH BROOKS' current world tour. Meanwhile, GHOSTTUNES, the site where all of BROOKS' music has been available for download for the past two years, will continue to honor commitments made to purchasers of his music at least through the end of the year; however, BROOKS' catalog will ultimately move away from that service.
