CAPITOL NASHVILLE artist DIERKS BENTLEY invited fans out to LEGENDS in Downtown NASHVILLE last NIGHT (11/14) for a free show (NET NEWS 11/14). BENTLEY spent time before the show "walking the line" and meeting with fans lined around the block; he signed autographs and took selfies, documenting the fun on FACEBOOK LIVE. Longtime GAYLORD Classic Country WSM-A/NASHVILLE evening personality and GRAND OLE OPRY announcer EDDIE STUBBS was on hand to welcome BENTLEY back to his honky tonk roots.
When BENTLEY took the stage inside the honky tonk on Lower Broadway, he delivered a set of cover songs that ranged from GEORGE JONES' "Why Baby Why" and HANK WILLIAMS SR.'s "Moan The Blues" to BROOKS & DUNN's "Lost And Found" and SAWYER BROWN's "Some Girls Do." Mid-set, BENTLEY welcomed WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE artist COLE SWINDELL, who will tour with him next YEAR (NET NEWS 10/3), for covers of JOE DIFFIE's "JOHN DEERE Green" and the RANDY TRAVIS classic "Forever And Ever, Amen."
BENTLEY wrapped the set with a few of his own hits, including "Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do" and "Somewhere On A Beach" and closed out the night with the JOHNNY CASH bar jam "FOLSOM Prison Blues." The show celebrated BENTLEY's roots as he prepares to headline his first show at BRIDGESTONE ARENA in NASHVILLE in JANUARY, where he will be joined by SWINDELL and JON PARDI. BENTLEY captured his return to Broadway for #DierksDowntown with a live stream that is now available to view via YOUTUBE.
