The latest branded-content podcast is theater ticket app TODAYTIX' "BROADWAY BACKSTORY," a series looking at hit Broadway musicals and how they were developed. The first season of seven weekly episodes, produced with "THEATER PEOPLE" podcast founder PATRICK HINDS, kicked off with two episodes looking at LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA's award-winning "IN THE HEIGHTS," including interviews with MIRANDA, the creator of "HAMILTON," himself.
The rest of the season will examine ALISON BECHDEL's "FUN HOME," "THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE," "THE SECRET GARDEN," "LEGALLY BLONDE," and "SPRING AWAKENING."
“BROADWAY BACKSTORY is the next step in our vision of making theater accessible to everyone,” said TODAYTIX CEO MERRITT BAER. “Just as the TODAYTIX app brings our customers insider access to great prices, our new podcast will offer exclusive behind-the-scenes insights and stories with the creative teams who have created some of our favorite BROADWAY musicals."
“I’m thrilled to partner with TODAYTIX to share the incredible backstories of some of the most inspiring shows of our time - from story inception to opening night - told through the creators, actors, directors and producers who lived and breathed each production,” said HINDS.
