HUBBARD BROADCASTING Adult Hits WARH (106.5 THE ARCH)/ST. LOUIS' "SPENCER's Neighborhood" has come to the aid of a fallen 46-year-old police officer, who was shot in the face last SUNDAY (NOVEMBER 20th) night. The officer’s shooter was killed in a shootout with police.
As a way to show support for this injured police officer, as well as for all men and women who serve and protect our community, the "SPENCER’s Neighborhood" team members presented the ST. LOUIS METROPOLITAN POLICE officer’s precinct with a THANKSGIVING feast, courtesy of HONEY BAKED HAM.
"SPENCER's Neighborhood" team members also visited the injured officer and his family in their home to deliver a complete dinner.
Commented the show's host SPENCER GRAVES:“The experience was humbling. The officer broke down in tears when we dropped the food off for his family. The most touching moment is when the officer told me, ‘I’m not sure how to process how nice everyone has been. It’s nice to know that people still love the men and women in blue.’”
SPENCER said the officer was in good spirits, “He was unsure if his superiors would have him return to policing, but the officer told me, ‘My doctor said I could go back to work!’” Added GRAVES: “This is the least we can do in support of our heroes in blue.”
