CBS RADIO Sports WIP/PHILADELPHIA and the PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES have announced an extension of their contract for WIP to serve as the team's radio flagship, starting with the 2017 season. The PHILS have aired on WIP since 2012; SCOTT FRANZKE, LARRY "L.A." ANDERSON, and JIM JACKSON will return as the radio broadcast crew. FRANZKE has also inked his own five-year extension with the PHILLIES; the play-by-play broadcaster will be entering his 12th season with the PHILLIES in 2017, the first year as pre- and post-game host and, since 2007, the primary radio play-by-play voice alongside ANDERSEN.
“We’re thrilled that SPORTSRADIO 94WIP is continuing the partnership as the radio home of PHILLIES baseball,” said CBS RADIO SVP/Market Manager DAVID YADGAROFF. “The PHILLIES have become part of the fabric of WIP and we’re excited for the 2017 season to begin.”
“We are excited for the return of PHILLIES baseball, and along with that, our radio broadcasts on SPORTSRADIO 94WIP,” said PHILLIES SVP, Marketing and Advertising Sales DAVID BUCK. “CBS RADIO is a long-time partner of ours, and we look forward to working with them, once again, to bring the very best coverage to our fans, starting with spring training and continuing throughout the 2017 season.”"We couldn't be happier to extend our relationship with SCOTT," said BUCK on FRANZKE's new deal. "He and LARRY ANDERSEN have been entertaining PHILLIES fans for over a decade and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future."
"My family and I are very excited and I just can't imagine doing this job anywhere else at this stage of my career," said FRANZKE. "I'm humbled and thankful to the PHILLIES for wanting this relationship to continue for another five years."
