A defamation suit against UNION BROADCASTING and its Sports WLCL-F (93.9 THE VILLE)/LOUISVILLE and hosts JOHN RAMSEY and MIKE RUTHERFORD by local public relations representative SCOTT JENNINGS and RUNSWITCH LLC (NET NEWS 3/24) has been settled, reports the LOUISVILLE COURIER-JOURNAL. Terms of the settlement were undisclosed, but RAMSEY and RUTHERFORD apologized on the air for their comments and a statement issued by both sides said that the information imparted by the hosts was false and no further comments would be made.
The suit alleged that the afternoon hosts claimed on the air on FEBRUARY 16th that JENNINGS and his company leaked news of the UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE's self-imposed post-season ban to rival sports radio host MATT JONES of KENTUCKY SPORTS RADIO, calling JENNINGS "unethical" and "unprofessional" and RAMSEY adding "SCOTT JENNINGS, hope you are proud of yourself. You can flush that company."
