Dolly Parton, WIVK/Knoxville, City Of Nashville All Host Fund Raisers For Great Smoky Mountains

DOLLY PARTON will organize a telethon in support of her recently-created "MY PEOPLE FUND," which supports those affected by the recent GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS wildfires (NET NEWS 12/1). PARTON plans to hold the telethon TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13th in NASHVILLE with 100% of all donations going directly to support victims of the tragic fires; no administration fees will be taken out of donations given to the fund. Artist lineup, syndicates, and additional information on the telethon are forthcoming.
Additionally, CUMULUS Country WIVK/KNOXVILLE has partnered with WVLT-TV/KNOXVILLE for a radiothon taking place TODAY (12/5) in support of the "MY PEOPLE FUND." BROKEN BOW RECORDS artist JACKIE LEE and DOT RECORDS artist TAE DYE of MADDIE AND TAE volunteered to work the phone bank for the station, while BMLG RECORDS artist TRENT HARMON and others have taken to their social media platforms in support of the radiothon.
Additionally, the city of NASHVILLE will participate in "The SMOKY MOUNTAIN Wildfires Telethon" on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9th airing on NBC-TV from 3p-8p (CT). The event is slated to include performances and special messages from KENNY CHESNEY, BRAD PAISLEY, LUKE BRYAN, LEE GREENWOOD, CHRIS STAPLETON, and more. Live performances from STUDIO B will also be broadcast with appearances from JOHN RICH, KRISTIAN BUSH, and others.
