WIVK/Knoxville Raises Over $800,000 With '#SmokyMtnStrong Radiothon'

Kudos to CUMULUS Country WIVK/KNOXVILLE, which joined with its local television partner, WVLT-TV, on MONDAY, DECEMBER 5th to raise a total of $815,000 during an 18-hour on-air and online radiothon benefitting DOLLY PARTON's "MY PEOPLE FUND" in support of those affected by the recent GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS wildfires (NET NEWS 12/5). The station raised $315,000 through call-in donations by the station's listeners, and an additional $500,000 were made online to the "MY PEOPLE FUND."

WIVK received support from Country artists who called in and took to social media to share their support of the "#SMOKYMTNSTRONG RADIOTHON." OLD DOMINION, JUSTIN MOORE, JASON ALDEAN, BRANTLEY GILBERT, and ZAC BROWN were among those who called in to the station; TRENT HARMON and JAKE OWEN spread the word to their followers online, and JACKIE LEE and MADDIE & TAE's TAYLOR DYE both showed up to the station in person to support the cause.
