ALL ACCESS extends sympathies to family and friends of longtime SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA broadcaster ART ASTOR, who passed away following a long battle with cancer. He was 91.
ASTOR was the owner of Country outlets KIKF/ANAHEIM and KOWF/SAN DIEGO. Originally KORG, ASTOR changed the calls to KIKF and flipped to Country in 1980. It continued playing Country until 2004. Similarly, he flipped then KOWN Country in 1987, changing its calls to KOWF, later selling the signal to LINCOLN FINANCIAL- then owners of Country KSON - in 2006. ASTOR owned and operated four additional radio properties in NORTHERN and SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. Services are pending.
