When CBS RADIO Hot AC WBMX (MIX 104.1)/BOSTON got word from MEGHAN TRAINER's people that she had become ill and was unable to perform at their "NOT SO SILENT NIGHT" show on TUESDAY (12/6) at the HOUSE OF BLUES with JAMES BAY and LINDSEY STERLING, the search was on to find a replacement ASAP!
Fortunately, APD/MD MIKE MULLANEY was able to contact COLUMBIA recording artist and BOSTON native RACHEL PLATTEN just as she and her band were boarding a plane at BOSTON’s LOGAN AIRPORT for a show at WOMX (MIX 105.1)/ORLANDO. RACHEL agreed to do the show, and after some wrangling with DELTA AIRLINES to deplane her band and equipment, they made it to the HOUSE OF BLUES just in the nick of time and the show went off without a hitch and just a 15-minute delay.
MIKE MULLANEY tells ALL ACCESS, "RACHEL is from NEWTON and MEGHAN is from NANTUCKET, so it's always nice when one local girl can cover for another local girl. The show raised 12,500 toys for KARSON & KENNEDY's "10,000 TOYS FOR GIRLS & BOYS," part of their month long TOYS FOR TOTS toy drive."
