BMG has signed a new A&R and publishing deal with music producer and songwriter JOHN FELDMANN, whose work on BLINK-182’s "California" earned a 2017 GRAMMY nomination. Through the agreement, FELDMANN will sign and develop new talent for BMG.
BMG has also signed a publishing deal with FELDMANN, which will further advance its relationship with the producer, typifying the company's integrated approach of representing both recordings and publishing under one roof.
Among his many achievements, FELDMANN produced BLINK-182's "California," on BMG, which topped the BILLBOARD charts in JULY and gained the band their first-ever GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Album.
"California" was BMG's second U.S.#1 album in just nine months following JANET JACKSON’s "Unbreakable." FELDMANN played a key role in working with the band to develop a new sound that has enabled them to reach new audiences.
FELDMANN has produced five #1 albums over the past three years from 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER, ALL TIME LOW and JAPAN's ONE OK ROCK in addition to BLINK-182. He has also done production work and songwriting on GOOD CHARLOTTE’s "The Young And The Hopeless," PANIC! AT THE DISCO’s "Vices And Virtues," THE USED's debut album, and has collaborated with top-rated artists including AVICII and STEVE AOKI, among many others.
FELDMANN began his music career in 1994 as a founding member of punk-ska group GOLDFINGER, serving as the band's lead singer, songwriter, producer and mixer. Since then, he has contributed to the sale of over 34 million records worldwide with nearly eight million sold over the past five years.
