With the future of the Commission under the new administration up in the air, Chairman TOM WHEELER has cleared items off the agenda for TODAY's monthly FCC Open Meeting, and the consideration of revisions to the Emergency Alert System rules is among the items being dropped.
Also dropped from the agenda are consideration of a fine against PREFERRED LONG DISTANCE, INC. for "slamming " and a closed captioning waiver request from the MIAMI Archdiocese. Adopted in advance and no longer on the agenda are four other items involving the Freedom of Information Act, satellite, wireless reliability, and the sale of land-mobile licenses by MARITIME COMMUNICATIONS/LAND MOBILE, LLC.
