WLKO (102.9 The Lake) And WEND (106.5 The End)/Charlotte Raise Cash, Toys For Kids First Of The Carolinas

iHEARTMEDIA Adult Hits WLKO (102.9 THE LAKE) and Alternative WEND (106.5 THE END)/CHARLOTTE raised over $16,000 and collected over 1,000 toys for KIDS FIRST OF THE CAROLINAS with a pair of concerts and a toy drive.

THE LAKE presented TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA for a DECEMBER 8th concert from which a dollar was contributed to KIDS FIRST for each ticket sold, netting $11,700.   THE END raised more funds with its annual Not So Acoustic CHRISTMAS concert on DECEMBER 5 with BASSH and THIRD EYE BLIND and partnered with TITO'S Vodka to present KIDS FIRST with a check for $5,000.  In addition, a toy collection drop-off was established at LAKE NORMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP AND RAM, with the dealer donating the use of its vehicles to transport the toys.

“There are many great causes to support this time of year, but no one can bear the thought of a child of any age not being able to experience a joyous CHRISTMAS,” said PD JACK DANIEL.  “KIDS FIRST is a local, grassroots organization who helps families in our community. The work they do is so important, as each year on DECEMBER 26, they start over again from nothing and build towards the next year.”

KIDS FIRST Founder SHARON SANDERS added, “iHEARTMEDIA CHARLOTTE has been supporting KIDS FIRST for many years and we were so happy this year when they chose us to benefit from TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA concert. The need is great each year and the money raised for KIDS FIRST make such a big difference.”
