KENNY MacPHERSON's BIG DEAL MUSIC has forged a sub-publishing agreement with AUSTRALASIAN company MUSHROOM MUSIC PUBLISHING, completing a new deal much like the one they first made when KENNY was at CHRYSALIS MUSIC PUBLISHING.
MacPHERSON has a long-standing relationship with MUSHROOM MUSIC PUBLISHING founder MICHAEL GUDINSKI and Managing Director IAN JAMES. Established in 1972, MUSHROOM has focused on writers from AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND, with a roster boasting such world-renowned writer/performers as VANCE JOY, NICK MURPHY (CHET FAKER), D.D. DUMBO, VIOLENT SOHO, UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA, THE TEMPER TRAP, BIRDS OF TOKYO and THE RUBENS.
BIG DEAL Founder MacPHERSON says the current pairing “has finally come full circle… MICHAEL, IAN and the entire MUSHROOM team are more than business partners to us. They are family.”
Added JAMES: "There has always been good business involved with a strong friendship and mutual respect between all of us. When our sub-publishing rights became available in NORTH AMERICA. MICHAEL and I thought this was the right place for our writers.”
The historic catalog extends from the late ‘60s, including classics such as "Eagle Rock" (DADDY COOL) and "The Loved One" (THE LOVED ONES), through today with promising newcomers like MANSIONAIR, JULIA JACKLIN and SLUM SOCIABLE.
