The DOWNLOAD ON PODCASTING, a project of DMR/INTERACTIVE and TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY, has released another pair of reports on podcasting geared towards those looking to start a new podcast this SUMMER.
One report, "Formats: Understanding the Structure of Podcasts," examines the importance of formatting. Lead Author ROB UPCHURCH said, “Podcasts benefit when the show has a highly organized and repeatable structure. Your format will allow you to know what to do every time you produce an episode.” MIDROLL MEDIA Podcasting Evangelist PAUL RIISMANDEL advised, “For the new podcaster you should know what your goals are and what you’re trying to accomplish.” And HANLEY MEDIA LAB President RYAN HANLEY suggested, “to stand out from the crowd, you need an intimate relationship.”
The second report, "Podcasting 4-1-1: 4 Things You Need to Know," offers an infographic with tips and suggestions for new podcasters, including advice on audience interaction, preparation, promotion and scheduling.
