CBS RADIO Sports KRLD-F (105.3 THE FAN)/DALLAS host and former major league pitcher MIKE BACSIK faces a misdemeanor assault charge after allegedly pushing and trying to hit another man while coaching a youth baseball game last AUGUST, reports the DALLAS MORNING NEWS.
A police report alleges that BACSIK, who appears on THE FAN's "G-BAG NATION" midday show and also works on pre- and post-game shows for TEXAS RANGERS baseball on FOX SPORTS SOUTHWEST, was coaching a team and objected to the opposing third-base coach helping a player during a game; BACSIK, after complaining to the umpire, allegedly charged the coach and pushed him to the ground twice, taking a swing at him but failing to connect.
BACSIK faces a fine of up to $500 if found guilty of the Class C misdemeanor charge of assault by contact. He has been a party to controversy before, losing his job at crosstown CUMULUS Sports KTCK-A-F (THE TICKET) in 2010 for a racially insensitive tweet.
