YOUTUBE INC. and VERIZON COMMUNICATIONS are reportedly in talks to bring videos to cellphones and televisions.
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL said YOUTUBE, which agreed in OCTOBER to be acquired by GOOGLE INC. for $1.65 billion, could become part of the first joint venture of telecom and Internet video.
VERIZON's customers would reportedly be able to view some YOUTUBE videos on their cellphones through the carrier's premium V-CAST service, and VERIZON would also offer videos as an on-demand feature of its new television service.
