In FEBRUARY (NET NEWS 2/8), ALL ACCESS reported UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP signed a multi-year agreement with the Estate of PRINCE ROGERS NELSON and NPG RECORDS INC., that granted UMG exclusive licensing rights to the iconic artist’s GRAMMY-winning NPG recordings, including a library of 25 albums as well as his unreleased works.
Now, reports THE MINNEAPOLIS BUSINESS JOURNAL, "A CARVER COUNTY judge has approved a move to scrap the $31 million music-rights deal between the PRINCE estate and UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP, after potential conflicts arose over who would control the rights to some of the singer's best-known songs."
