Industry Vet Richard Sanders Named CEO Of Jay Z's Tidal

RICHARD SANDERS, who ankled his post at KOBALT MUSIC GROUP in MAY, replaced by LAURENT HUBERT, has been named CEO of JAY Z's streaming service TIDAL, succeeding JEFF TOIG. Ex-SOUNDCLOUD exec TOIG was the third CEO to exit the company in just over two years, following ANDY CHEN's departure in APRIL 2015,, two months before interim CEO PETER TONSTAD left.
SPRINT acquired a 33% stake in TIDAL in JANUARY worth $200m, with SPRINT CEO MARCELO CLAURE joining TIDAL's board.
Before joining KOBALT in 2012, SANDERS was SONY MUSIC’s Chairman/International & President/Global Marketing. He also headed up SONY MUSIC LIVE.
Prior to SONY, SANDERS held executive positions at RCA RECORDS, V2 RECORDS and ARISTA RECORDS.
