LAKES MEDIA, LLC has filed the paperwork for the sale of News-Talk WTPL (107.7 THE PULSE)/HILLSBORO-CONCORD, NH to BINNIE MEDIA's WBIN, INC. for $1.3 million. BINNIE is operating WTPL under an LMA after dropping the News-Talk format on its own WNNH (NH1 NEWS RADIO)/HENNIKER-CONCORD in favor of Oldies (NET NEWS 8/7).
In other filings with the FCC, TALKING INFORMATION CENTER, INC. has applied for a Silent STA for WRRS/MIDDLEBOROUGH CENTER, MA due to technical issues at its new site and the need to apply for a different substitute site.
GLOBAL RADIO, L.L.C. (DELAWARE) has requested an STA to operate Ethnic WNWR-A/PHILADELPHIA without an antenna monotor while it sends its antenna off to be modified.
UNIVISION RADIO STATIONS GROUP, INC. has filed for an STA to operate Spanish News-Talk WQBA-A/MIAMI with reduced power of 12,500 watts days and 2,500 watts at night nondirectional, allowing it to make modifications to the station's phasing and coupling equipment.
And DANIEL DAVIDSON has applied for an STA to operate Contemporary Christian KLYT (STAR 88)/ALBUQUERQUE, NM with reduced power due to transmitter failure.
Bell Media Buys 4 Ontario FMs
In CANADA, BELL MEDIA is buying Classic Hist CICZ (104.1 THE DOCK)/MIDLAND, ON; Classic Hits CJOS (92.3 THE DOCK)/OWEN SOUND, ON; Country CICS (KICX COUNTRY 91.7)/SUDBURY,ON; and Country CICX (KICX COUNTRY 106)/ORILLIA, ON from LARCHE COMMUNICATIONS for an undisclosed price.
