BLUEWATER BROADCASTING Top 40 WQKS-HD3-W296AI/MONTGOMERY, AL has returned to Rock as "107.1 THE VAULT" under PD RICK PETERS.
The station flipped from THE VAULT in 2013 and debuted Classic Jams YO! 107.1 in 2013. YO! moved to 100.5 when HITS 107.1 debuted two years later.
PETERS posted on FACEBOOK, "At midnight tonight THE 107.1 VAULT returns. The market has spoken, and we do listen (contrary to popular belief). THE VAULT will try to recreate Album and Progressive Rock stations from the '70s; Icons like KSHE, KMET, WMMR, Zeta4, WSHE, KLOS, and THE LOOP. The format is free form. The jocks can program what they like. We will live and breathe the best music of the decades - '70s and '80s album tracks. Every day will be different. It's a throwback, but at the same time it's evolutionary for the day. It's not going to be for everyone. It's not designed to be mass-appeal. For those of you that lived the music the first time, we will try to be worthy. For the rest of you, listen up. You might find something you love."
