CBS RADIO Sports WIP/PHILADELPHIA's 2017 EAGLES Radiothon raised $207,970 on TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY (9/5-6) to benefit the EAGLES CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, which directs its funds towards vision care and autism research. The money will help over 6,932 children in need to receive eye care in the form of a $30 comprehensive vision exam and a pair of eyeglasses.
“True impact is measured by the generosity of kindhearted individuals,” said EAGLES CHARITABLE FOUNDATION President CHRISTINA WEISS LURIE. “When everyone comes together for a good cause, we have the potential to make a difference in the lives of many. Through the EAGLES Radiothon, even more children in the Greater PHILADELPHIA region will now benefit from EAGLES CHARITABLE FOUNDATION’s commitment to comprehensive vision care and autism research. The unbelievable support provided by 94WIP, EAGLES fans, auction bidders and volunteers over these past two days was simply remarkable and we thank them for their efforts.”
“As the Official Bank of the EAGLES and a longtime supporter of the Foundation, we have seen firsthand how the important work of this organization has had a meaningful impact on the community,” said SANTANDER BANK Regional Executive for Commercial Banking DAVID SWOYER, whose bank sponsored the radiothon. “We are pleased to help deliver these important services to children and families in Greater PHILADELPHIA.”
“Once again this year, the staff at SportsRadio 94WIP is overwhelmed by the generosity of our listeners and EAGLES fans in the Delaware Valley,” said CBS RADIO PHILADELPHIA SVP/Market Manager DAVID YADGAROFF. “We asked fans to donate to the EAGLES Radiothon and they blew us away. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that with the help of our clients, listeners, partners in the community, and fans, the EAGLES CHARITABLE FOUNDATION will continue to provide free, comprehensive vision care for underserved youth and will continue funding autism research.”
The radiothon included on-air bidding on several prize packages, including a trip to SUPER BOWL LII, three "ANGELO CATALDI AND THE MORNING TEAM" remote broadcasts, and a passing clinic with EAGLES quarterbacks CARSON WENTZ and NICK FOLES.
