ALL ACCESS has confirmed that industry vet JIM DORMAN is the new OM for iHEARTMEDIA/WICHITA's four-station cluster, which includes Country KZSN, Top 40 KZCH, AC KRBB, and Alternative KTHR. In addition to OM duties, DORMAN will oversee day-to-day programming for KZSN. He succeeds BRIAN JENNINGS in both roles, following JENNINGS departure from the company TODAY (9/13), after more than five years. Reach JENNINGS at (316) 883-2325 or here.
The move marks a return to radio for DORMAN, who last programmed at CUMULUS Country WSJR/WILKES BARRE-SCRANTON, PA before leaving in 2007 (NET NEWS 1/19/07). DORMAN had since been on the label side of the biz, most recently with BIG SPARK, working with OLIVIA LANE. Additional label stops included NINE NORTH/TURNPIKE, BLACK RIVER, and COUNTRY THUNDER. "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in," DORMAN told ALL ACCESS, channeling his very best MICHAEL CORLEONE. "I wanted to end my career the way I started it, in radio," DORMAN further explained. Send congrats here.
A 25-year radio vet - 18 with iHEARTMEDIA - JENNINGS arrived in WICHITA in 2012, following time as OM at MORRIS/SALINA, KS (NET NEWS 2/24/12). It was his second career stop at KZSN; JENNINGS' resume also includes the PD chair at iHEARTMEDIA Country WGAR/CLEVELAND.
