ROUNDHOUSE RADIO Variety CIRH (ROUNDHOUSE RADIO 98.3)/VANCOUVER is enlisting former TORONTO radio personality GENE VALAITIS for mornings 6-10a (PT) beginning MONDAY (9/18).
VALAITIS is best remembered for being half of "JESSE AND GENE" with JESSE DYLAN at CFTR-A, CILQ (Q107) (twice), and CHOG-A/TORONTO; he also served as a host at CHUM RADIO's TEAM SPORTS NETWORK and, briefly, with JANE HAWTIN at CHOG-CFYI. He also anchored and reported news at CFRB-A and CHUM-A-F/TORONTO and CFRA-A/OTTAWA and hosted at CHIQ (Q94)/WINNIPEG; more recently, VALAITIS has been working as an executive for several multi-level marketing companies in the U.S.
ROUNDHOUSE RADIO CEO DON SHAFER said, "GENE's special brand of storytelling will help ease Vancouverites into their day in his trademark witty, topical and provocative way. We are very excited about what GENE will offer our audience in the mornings to keep them thinking and talking at the proverbial water cooler."
In addition, former crosstown CORUS News-Talk CKNW-A host, SPORTSNET anchor, and CITY-TV affiliate CKVU-DT "BREAKFAST TELEVISION" co-host JODY VANCE is joining the station for 10a-1p, starting SEPTEMBER 25th.
SHAFER said, "We are very excited to bring JODY's considerable talents to ROUNDHOUSE RADIO on a daily basis. Her level of broadcast experience and professionalism runs deep. People will be tuning in for her signature style of conversation."
