Condolences to family and friends of former radio station owner and personality REGGIE LAVONG, who died SEPTEMBER 19th at 84, according to the PHILADELPHIA TRIBUNE.
LAVONG's on-air career included stops at WHAT-A and WRCV-A/PHILADELPHIA, WHFC-A/CHICAGO, and WWRL-A and WNBC-A (as "JUST JOHN")/NEW YORK. He worked for CAPITOL RECORDS, ISLAND RECORDS, and MCA RECORDS as well as WHMM-TV/WASHINGTON before buying WHAT-A in 1986; he sold the station in 1989 and later owned several businesses and worked for SHEARSON LEHMAN BROTHERS.
