NPR Pres./CEO JARL MOHN has taken a medical leave of absence from the network, reports the LOS ANGELES TIMES.
MOHN said in a memo to the staff that his medical leave is related to the ruptured aorta he suffered last MARCH and hypertension that has risen to a dangerous level; he will be out for a minimum of four weeks, with COO LOREN MAYOR overseeing day-to-day operations in his stead.
MOHN has been under pressure in the wake of the departure of SVP/News and Editorial Director MICHAEL ORESKES over claims of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior and the network's delayed response to the issue, which came under criticism by employees.
