NAB PILOT Program Announces Winners Of Innovation Challenge

The winners of the NAB's PILOT program's second annual PILOT Innovation Challenge were announced SUNDAY (11/12) at NAB FUTURES in PALO ALTO, CA. The first-place winners will receive $30,000, second place $25,000 and third place $20,000, with three winners receiving an Innovators Award of $15,000 to assist with prototyping their concepts.
The winners are:
- 1st Place: ADAM WOODLIEF, UNC-TV, Next Gen TV Saving Lives One Alert at a Time
- 2nd Place: JOSH DAVIDSBURG, UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, NewsBIN VLOG
- 3rd Place: AYNIDE ALAKOYE, nēdl (speech recognition for radio content)
- Innovation Award Winners: HANS MEYER, E.W. SCRIPPS SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM AT OHIO UNIVERSITY, Engagement VR: Transparent Community Interaction; KATHLEEN RYAN and ELIZABETH SKEWS, UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO BOULDER, Immersive Storytelling & an Ethic of Care; EDWIN ROGERS and WILLIAM STEELE, VRVideo, LiveWorks
