DICK GROAT's schedule will be a little lighter this season, as the longtime UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH men's basketball analyst will handle PANTHERS home games but only select road games, reports the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE.
GROAT, the 87-year-old former DUKE UNIVERSITY basketball star and MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL shortstop for PITTSBURGH, ST. LOUIS, PHILADELPHIA, and SAN FRANCISCO, has been calling PANTHERS games for 38 seasons; CURTIS AIKEN returns as an analyst and will take GROAT's place for some road games alongside play-by-play voice BILL HILLGROVE. The PANTHERS air on a network flagshipped by CBS RADIO Sports KDKA-F (93.7 THE FAN)/PITTSBURGH and produced by the IMG SPORTS NETWORK.
