Cox Media Group Names New Managers In Seven Markets

COX MEDIA GROUP has made managerial changes in seven of its markets, including some with radio properties.
In MIAMI, Radio Dir./Sales RALPH RENZI has been upped to GM of CMG MIAMI by Regional VP ROB BABIN. The MIAMI cluster includes Urban WEDR (99 JAMZ), Top 40 WFLC (HITS 97.3), AC EFEZ (EASY 93.1), and Urban AC WHQT (HOT 105).
In ORLANDO, CMG TAMPA Radio Dir./Sales JASON MEDER has been named GM of CMG ORLANDO, reporting to Market VP PAUL CURRAN. The cluster includes ABC affiliate WFTV (TV), Independent WRDQ-TV, Urban AC WCFB (STAR 94.5), News-Talk WDBO-F (NEWS 96.5), Sports WDBO-A (ESPN 580), Adult Hits WMMO, Top 40/Rhythmic WPYO (POWER 95.3), Spanish AC WCFB-HD2-W297BB (107.3 SOLO EXITOS), and Country WWKA (K92).
In JACKSONVILLE, FOX affiliate WFOX-TV (FOX 30) and CBS affiliate WJAX-TV (CBS 47) News Diretor BOB LONGO has been upped to GM, reporting to Market VP DAN LAWRIE. The JACKSONVILLE cluster includes Top 40 WAPE, News-Talk WOKV-A-F, Classic Hits WJGL (96.9 THE EAGLE), Alternative WXXJ (X106.5), and AC WEZI (EASY 102.9).
In non-radio markets, CMG CHARLOTTE VP/GM JOE POMILLA will replace the retiring TOM RAPONI as VP/GM of FOX affiliate WFXT-TV (BOSTON 25)/BOSTON, reporting to Regional VP RAY CARTER; CMG PITTSBURGH DOS CEDRIC THOMAS has been named VP/GM for ABC affiliate WSOC-TV and Independent WAXN-TV/CHARLOTTE; CBS affiliate KIRO-TV/SEATTLE Creative Services Dir. SUSAN CONNOR has been named VP/GM of FOX affiliate WHBQ-TV (FOX 13)/MEMPHIS; and SINCLAIR FOX affiliate KFOX-TV (FOX 14), CBS affiliate KDBC-TV (CBS 4), and MY NETWORK TV affiliate KDBC-TV-4.2 (MY 4)/EL PASO GM KEVIN HAYES has been named GM for NBC affiliate WPXI-TV/PITTSBURGH, reporting to CARTER.
